Annual Compensation Range: $60,000-$72,000

We are looking for a Research & Development Scientist to support our company and efforts to improve patient care. To be successful in this role the associate will enjoy consistently performing testing in a laboratory, have a strong desire to be innovative and work collaboratively with a team.


What will I be doing as a Research & Development Scientist?
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:     
  • Conduct and support laboratory experiments to develop new coatings
  • Find creative ways to coat a variety of devices
  • Perform and develop analytical testing on coated devices to identify the coatings components
  • Operate and maintain analytical chemistry equipment such as HPLC, SEC, FTIR, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, coating machines, and friction testers
  • Write reports to document findings, communicate cross-departmental and with customers
  • Support coating engineers
  • Document hazard analysis for new raw materials, chemical processes, procedures for coating and analytical testing
  • Develop, complete, and ensure compliance with application documents and process controls, including SOPs, work order instructions, process techniques for example
  • Pursue ongoing improvement goals and look for ways to foster both personal and company development
  • Provide data analysis by accepted statistical methods using statistical software
Do I qualify?
  • B.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or any other related scientific discipline
  • 1 to 3 years of industrial experience in a laboratory environment, ideally focused on analytical or coatings fields
  • Experience with a variety of chemical analysis techniques such as HPLC, SEC, FTIR, and UV-Vis with an understanding of the chemistry required to pursue the research
  • Skilled in working independently and desire to learn
  • Understanding how to plan and schedule projects
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to operate lab instruments and interpret data
  • Good organizational and technical writing skills
  • Background in focusing and following safety procedures
  • Ability to work in a team and contribute with flexibility and collaboration
